GUIDED TOURS
Guided tours are offered on Seili, during which you can explore the island’s history, nature, and research activities taking place on the island.
You must register for the tours in advance via online reservation or at the café. Tours depart at 11:30 and 14:00 during the high season, and at 14:00 during other times. The 11:30 tour departs from Postilaituri, and the 14:00 tour departs from the flagpole next to the main building during the beginning and end of the season. During the high season, the 14:00 tour departs from the church. Please check the detailed information in the tour calendar.
Private tours are especially suitable for larger groups or parties who wish to have the tour in other languages. The route for the private tour is determined on a case-by-case basis according to the group’s preferences. Private tours can also be arranged during spring and autumn. Guided Island Tour
The island tour lasts about 1½ hours and offers a physically engaging journey where you’ll explore the island’s history, culture, nature, museum exhibits, and ongoing science and research activities. The tour concludes with a visit to the museum church. The tour is conducted in Finnish. Prices for the tour:

Visitors have free access to the main building, which was formerly a psychiatric hospital. In the hallway of the main building, there is a preserved single patient room from the psychiatric hospital era. The University of Turku’s Biodiversity Unit has opened an exhibition in the former library of the Archipelago Sea Research Institute. This exhibit highlights the hospital era of the island as well as the activities of the Archipelago Sea Research Institute.
Museum Church – History and Atmosphere
Seili’s museum church offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the history and tranquility of the archipelago. The church is open during the season and provides an interesting environment to explore the island’s rich and varied history. Inside the church, you can admire its simple yet beautiful architecture and historical details. Entry fees are as follows:

Opening hours for the church:
Early season (17th May – 8th June): Saturdays and Sundays, 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM
High season (14th June – 10th August): Daily, 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM
In the late season, the church is only open during guided tours. For groups, the church can be opened outside of the regular opening hours. You can also visit the church during guided tours, where you’ll learn more about the church and the island’s history.
